WaveLink 1160 RF Probe Station

The WL-1160 RF / Microwave Probe Station has been designed for high-frequency, high-power, and millimeter wave applications where non-resonant operation is critical.

 

The WL-1160 Probe Station is available with 150mm and 200mm chucks for holding a wide variety of devices under test. The independent calibration chuck is located adjacent to the main chuck to improve calibration time and efficiency. The calibration chuck is designed to facilitate both landscape and portrait orientations, and is fabricated from a non-resonant polymer for calibration at higher frequencies.

 

The WL-1160 includes a 2" X 2" microscope stage for optimal viewing of the test area. The WL-1160 supports most StereoZoom and high-powered microscopes on the market today.

 

The WL-1160 Probe Station uses the same stable platform as its sister product, the S-1160 multipurpose probe station. The S-1160 and WL-1160 share the same versatility that allows use of probe cards, magnetic vacuum, and bolt-down base micropositioners, hot chucks, light-tight enclosures and many more essential accessories that give users the tools they need.

S-96MW Micropositioner

The S-96MW Micropositioner is designed for RF probing. The positioner has one inch movements in all axes and captured cross-roller bearings to prevent accidentally moving the tip if bumped. An integral co-planarity adjustment provides for adjusting G-S-G tip planarity. S-96MW positioners are available with head configurations allowing the microwave head to be introduced from the front, rear, left or right side. The S-96MW is the most stable RF positioner available.

 

The S-96MW Micropositioner has been specifically engineered for the unique demands of high-frequency testing, rather than just modified from an existing DC design. Extended length ball and race bearings, captive leadscrews, and increased mass insure non-resonant performance to W-Band and beyond.

DC Probes for use with Microwave Probing Systems

Coaxial Probes are designed for low-level signal probing to less than 10fA. The probe's single unit design is especially desirable for the best possible electrical characteristics. The Coaxial Probe is also offered with optional Ground Plane, Kelvin and resister series /parallel configurations. Contact factory for further specifications available for your particular application.

Construction
The Probes are constructed of microwave-quality components. The 50 Ohm semi-rigid cable consists of 8 mil tungsten wire forming the inner conductor and probe point, with isolation from the gold plated copper shield being achieved through the utilization a Teflon dielectric. The probe contact protrudes from the shielding by .150" to maintain low-level signal noise to the probe.

The connector is an industry standard SSMC, mounted in a brass mounting shank where it is attached to the coax.
