Signatone Micropositioners
Signatone offers a variety of high resolutions micropositioner as follows:

CAP-945 Computer Aided Probe

The CAP-945 is a motorized micropositioner that is designed to be controlled by any of the Signatone Solutions Computer Aided Probing Systems or by the Signatone JD2 joystick / thumbwheel controller. CAP-945 micropositioners provide "hands-off" probing and can take advantage of the programmable capabilities that computer aided probing offers.Download the product brochure for the CAP-946 Computer Aided Probing System [286K PDF file]

S-96MW Micropositioner

The S-96MW micropositioner is designed for RF probing. The positioner has one inch movements in all axes and captured cross-roller bearings to prevent accidentally moving the tip if bumped. An integral co-planarity adjustment provides for adjusting G-S-G tip planarity. S-96MW positioners are available with head configurations allowing the microwave head to be introduced from the front, rear, left or right side. The S-96MW is the most stable RF positioner available.

The SP-150 Inline Micropositioner

The SP-150 is Signatone's most stable and precise micropositioner for submicron probing. All three axes are mechanical isolated from the movement knobs, providing zero user induced vibration. The X and Y knobs are both located at the rear of the micropositioner so that multiple micropositioners can be positioned closely together without interference from a knob located on the side. The SP-150 is designed for state of the art sub-micron geometry probing. The SP-150 includes a pivoting assembly which allows probe tip holders to be quicly positioned in the Z axis, prior to using the fine Z positioning movement for final touchdown.

The SP170X MICROTOOLS

The Signatone SP170X features a suite of exceptionally strong, high-resolution microtools. The actuating mechanism consists of a proprietary micro cam-drive that moves axially across the nickel microtool to rigidly and precisely position the tool tips.
  • 0 to 1000 ìm tip-to-tip opening
  • Ultra high-resolution tip control
  • Strong, robust metal microtips
  • Precise tip alignment
  • MEMS and biological applications

  • S-931 Micropositioner

The S-931 micropositioner is designed for state of the art sub-micron geometry probing. The S-931 micropositioner has two speeds of positioning movement in the X and Y axes. A small knob is used for 100 TPI resolution movement and a larger concentric knob provides the equivalent of 800 TPI using a compound nut assembly. It is available with a magnetic or vacuum base and in either left or right hand models. Three head assemblies are available: The "C" head holds the probe tip holder in a fixed position. The "S" head has small leaf springs to compensate for the expansion often associated with high temperature thermal probing. The "P" head has a pivot assembly which allows the probe tip holder to be quicly positioned in the Z axis, prior to using the fine Z positioning movement for final touchdown.

    S-926 Micropositioner

The S-926 micropositioner is designed for small geometry probing down to approximately one micron.

    S-725 Micropositioner

The S-725 micropositioner is designed primarily for probing targets that are approximately 1 mil (12.7 microns) and larger. It is available with a magnetic or vacuum base and in either left or right hand models. Three head assemblies are available: The "C" head holds the probe tip holder in a fixed position. The "S" head has small leaf springs to compensate for the expansion often associated with high temperature thermal probing. The "P" head has a pivot assembly which allows the probe tip holder to be quicly positioned in the Z axis, prior to using the fine Z positioning movement for final contact.

    Pivot Head

The pivot head assembly is available on S-725, S-926, and S-931 micropositioners.

    S-750 Joystick Micropositioner

The Signatone S-750 features a 9:1 motion ratio and a scan area of 0.10" x 0.180". The S-750 is available with or without the removable extension rod. The body is made of mold injected Delrin and it is mounted onto a strong magnetic metal base. The S-750 is capable of rapidly establishing contact with probing targets as small as 1 mil.
