The air bag sensors which resemble microscopic trampolines, detect motion. The ink jet nozzles resemble small louvers. Optical switching devices used in telecommunications have microscopic tilting mirrors. Other types of devices have microscopic doors, levers and gears. Typically, one or two probes are used as a power source to drive the micro-electro-mechanical-systems, while other probes are sometimes used to obstruct the device in motion for destructive testing.
